Recently school and community have united to preserve the heritage and culture of Kaleva for future generations. In anticipation of the Centennial in year 2000 many projects have been completed to attract visitors and revive residents’ pride in the town.
- Centennial Walkway
Students worked Fall 1999 through Spring 2000 to construct Centennial Walkway with gardens and artworks. Here you will see the grasshopper sculpture, totem poles, rock garden and benches for relaxing along the walkway.
- Kaleva Art Gallery
The Co-operative Art Gallery is a student project now taken over by over 30 local artists. Acrylics, watercolors, oils and ink prints along with metal, clay, wood and fibers, photography, jewelry, tie-dye, dried flowers, dollhouses and warsticks make it possible for everyone to find something to buy.
